This Winter Music Conference is one feisty bitch, so we need clarity. Check out our meet-up schedule for WMC 2008. Among the highlights will be an appearance by local vintage synth electro-breaks producer Gosub, left, and a live performance by recently-dropped-from-Interscope-Records artists Simian Mobile Disco (Interscope, you dumb sonsabitches). And of course let's not forget Anja Schneider's return...

Naljas, the only Dominican I know in Miami (that spent a 4 year hiatus wintering the cold in North Dakota, that is), delivers a smooth 30-minute mnml teaser in preparation for a big countdown to this year's WMC. This set has enough warped clicks and chopped, velvet synth loops to prepare you for more...

WFTAW and hundreds of partyheads were witness to a wicked party at Joe's warehouse featuring Anja Schneider. We set up the sound for Sobebeats once again and the night/morn/afternoon was pretty fun. Thanks again for letting us help out! Anja Schneider, pulling the spirits of Fritz Loveradio and her best mobilee tracks, played for like 6 hours, which was a total treat in the warehouse til dawn.

A teeny-tiny room off a back alley near 6th and Washington was the location of Sobebeats's Square Room 3 party in mid-October. This time they invited Frans Martins to play and Blackbox wheeled out the mini-rig once again. We threw some of the clips together as a thank you to the Sobebeats crew for the invitation and support. Check it out.

Sound waves aren't our only business. Those who know us are aware of our long-time support of surfing-related campaigns. We all surf and use some of the money from the mini-rig for travels abroad. You can imagine how cool it was for us to assist the local Surfrider Foundation chapter with audio for the South Florida premiere of Quicksilver's Young Guns 3 release. Thanks to Surfrider South Florida for all they are doing for the South Florida beach community.
