Those from the ancien regime of ’90s American techno most likely got turned on to Welsh when he published Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance in 1996, which was pushed by Hyperreal as the cyberpunk author all ravers needed to have on the shelf until Simon Reynolds published Generation Ecstasy in 1998. The author of Acid House (and other novels, including Trainspotting) visits Miami, Tuesday, May 8.
